My husband + I got into a fight.
No tea to spill really. I can't even remember what it was about, but I can assure you it was something stupid. Clearly.
I took a breath + told him I was going to the gym.
That was what I needed + I was able to articulate that.
On my way to the gym I thought about how much I have grown on this weight loss journey.
"Old Melissa" would have turned to alcohol or food to "manage" her emotions.
"Old Melissa" wouldn't have had enough awareness to even check in with herself + inquire about her own needs in a moment like that.
"Old Melissa" is super proud of what a Bad Bitch I've become.
I know what I need + I have no guilt making that a requirement in my life.
But this didn't happen overnight.
And what about other kinds of emotions like sadness or anxiety?
