Who I am is a woman who was obese until she was 34. I've struggled with addiction and family trauma. I spent much of my life vacillating between eating my emotions and starving myself. If I'm being honest, I spent the bulk of the time on the former.
In 2013 I had my "fuck this shit" moment and I decide to quit dieting and just focus on getting strong. I joined the local gym and began lifting heavy and I'm talking heavy heavy. No 5-pound dumbbells here. And when it came to food, I shifted from focusing on restriction to focusing on quality. I began to meal prep. I kept my food simple and easy. I took it one day at a time and I lost over 60 lbs. of fat and built a pretty great ass if I do say so myself.
